Exercise is Medicine® On Campus (EIM-OC) calls upon universities and colleges to promote physical activity as a vital sign of 健康. EIM-OC encourages faculty, 工作人员, and students to work together to improve the campus community's 健康 and well-being.
Northwest EIM-OC Leadership Board
Student Leadership Board:
Our goal is to give students practical experiences in 健康 science and wellness. We'll share the global movement's message at Northwest and provide tools to strengthen 健康y habits. EIM-OC fosters collaboration and leadership among disciplines that support its vision on campuses worldwide.
EIM-OC facilitates the development of crucial knowledge, skills and attitudes for students seeking careers in 健康 and wellness-related fields.
In order to become a member of the leadership board, every student had to submit a letter of intent and a resume. The deadline for submitting applications for the upcoming year is in January. The advisory and student leadership boards for the year will be established in February. It is mandatory to register annually with the new leadership board.
EIM-OC is a platform that aims to promote collaborative relationships and leadership among college and university students in the fields of exercise, 健康, and related disciplines. The student leadership team, through the AHS club, will collaborate with various clubs and organizations in the Northwest, as well as local community partners, to achieve the mission. The current partners include Northwest Wellness Services, Student Recreation Center, Foster Fitness Center, 马赛克, and Maryville Community Center.
Our courses incorporate EIM October/April activities and sustainable programs into the curriculum to provide students with hands-on, practical experience and help them achieve their learning outcomes. EIM-OC opportunities are available to students in both semesters, starting in October and continuing through April/May until the last week before finals. At the end of each year, we celebrate the progress we have made as a campus.
EIM-OC provides recognition opportunities at the ACSM Central States and ACSM National Conference held in May 2024, which allows Northwest and its students to showcase their research and receive national awards and recognition for their efforts. We plan to submit the research in February to receive credit, and the tiers will be awarded in March or April each year.
